Waterbury Added To Cancer For College Advisory Board
"We are honored that Mike Waterbury would want to use his valuable time, energy and resources to help Cancer for College further its mission of providing college scholarships and educational opportunities for cancer survivors," said charity founder and board president Craig Pollard. "We know that Mike's experience in the world of health care and his passion for doing good will enable us to ease the financial burdens of attending college for our scholars and allow them to thrive through the experience."
"Cancer for College was the very first cause we supported when the leadership team at RemedyOne formed ScholarScripts as a more efficient way to support worthy charities," Waterbury said. "We were attracted to the value of its mission and the transparency of its operation. I'm thrilled with the opportunity to work even more closely with the organization and help find more ways to enrich more lives."
Cancer for College is a 501(c)3 charitable foundation formed in 1993 by two-time cancer survivor and double-amputee Craig Pollard. Craig saw firsthand how cancer can impact a family physically, emotionally and financially. The mission of the charity is to provide college scholarships to low-income, high-achieving cancer survivors while offering a support system of educational opportunities to enable the students to thrive through college and beyond. Since inception, the charity has awarded over 1,300 scholarships and granted more than $3 million. To learn more, visit www.cancerforcollege.org.
