Tuesday Night Comics is arguably the funniest night of comedy in San Diego. MCL taps into his extensive list of talented comedian friends and shares the North Coast Rep stage with them. The show is comprised of talent from all over the country with late-night television credits as well as credits from Comedy Central, HBO, SHOWTIME. The July 17th line-up includes John Brooks and the San Diego Jazz Quintet, Brian Apprille, Karen Bankhead/Etta Mae Mumphries, and Danny Villapando. Go to http://www.northcoastrep.org for tickets.
MARK CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE (Host) Recipient of the 2012 San Diego Critic's Circle Craig Noel: Award – Outstanding Actor Of The Year. MCL has worked with comedy greats likes of Sinbad, Jerry Seinfeld, Rodney Dangerfield, and Jeff Foxworthy as well as, having headlined clubs, colleges and churches all over the USA and Canada. He is perhaps best known for his series regular role as 'Big Mike' on the NBC TV series "Chuck". He has recent appearances on the FOX TV show "Pitch" and on the PureFlix.com show "The Content". His three-decade long acting career has been a blessing and MCL is now in pre-production on several projects as a writer and/or producer showing his talent on the other side of the camera. Mark is also well known for his role as "Big Mike" on the NBC hit series Chuck. He was featured prominently in the popular series' final year with Warner Brothers submitting him for several nominations in the 2012 Awards Season. He has appeared on many hit television shows.
JOHN BROOKS AND THE SAND DIEGO JAZZ QUINTET are based in beautiful San Diego California and play an assortment of jazz standards from around the world. From soul jazz beats to Latin jazz rhythms
and classic jazz tunes, you will enjoy the vibe the group throws down.
BRIAN APPRiLLE A professional stand-up comedian since 1997, Brian Apprille has performed all over the
country making people laugh at casinos, clubs, colleges, conventions, and other events. In 2009, developed facial paralysis as a result from a rare disease called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. He returned to the stage determined to pursue his dreams and to help raise facial paralysis awareness, and laughter and hope to those who suffer from it.
KAREN BANKHEAD/ETTA MAE MUMPHRIES "altar" ego of veteran actress Karen Bankhead, has charmed audiences everywhere, with her hysterical recollections and witty words of wisdom, leaving fans "tickled pink." Part of the award-winning one-woman show "The VO-5 Experience,"
DANNY VILLALPANDO For a guy who loves life, Danny has a way of finding fault with it! He's like a sarcastic motivational speaker. Danny has performed for corporate events, charity organizations, and cruise ships. He has also had the privilege of working worldwide with the USO and Comic's on Duty and now Don Barnhart Entertainment!
From its modest beginning over 30 years ago, the North Coast Repertory Theatre, a non-profit organization, has evolved into one of the area's leading performing arts organizations, recognized for the quality of its work and its commitment to excellence. Located in Solana Beach, in the heart of San Diego's Coastal North County, the theatre boasts an award-winning Mainstage season, with performances year-round to over 40,000 people in its intimate 194-seat setting.
