Recipients of the 2018 research grants and their proposal titles are: Scott Friend (Miami University), Kumar Rakesh Ranjan (Indian Institute of Calcutta) and Jeff S. Johnson, Ph.D. (University of Missouri-Kansas City) - Failing Fast; Assessing the contingent benefits of salesperson failing fast on performance and attitudinal outcomes. Ryan Mullins (Clemson University) - Uncovering the Impact of Sales Force Capabilities on Firm Performance. Completed research will be submitted to academic journals, and findings will be highlighted in practitioner- The official announcement was made at the 2018 Global Sales Science Institute, GSSI, in Vienna, Austria. This yearly conference brings together scholars and practitioners interested in sharing and advancing cutting edge professional selling and sales management practices, research and education. Sally Stevens, Executive Director of the SEF, says "The research grant program continues the support of research by both current academicians and doctoral candidates. This helps to address the growth of new and existing sales programs and the need for more academically qualified instructors. Recipients are chosen for their ability to apply rigorous academic methodology to address the needs of the business community." Leff Bonney from Florida State University served as chair of the 2018 Selection Committee.
