TECSYS Continues Support of Montreal Children's Hospital

MONTREAL - June 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Today, 30 TECSYS employees hopped on a custom bike and rode through downtown Montreal to raise over $25,000 for the Montreal Children's Hospital through its annual Pedal for Kids fundraiser. Since 1999, employees from the Montreal office of TECSYS, an industry-leading supply chain management software company, have participated in the fundraising event. It has raised over $85,000 to date for the cause.

Pedal for Kids is a fundraising challenge for corporate and community teams that provides much-needed medical equipment, neonatal research, and specialized training for nurse practitioners, all of which benefit the province's sickest babies. It was created in 1991 by Sylvie Lalumière and Michael Conway in memory of their daughter Meagan, who had been treated at the facility.

"We are truly touched by the involvement of companies like TECSYS," says Renée Vézina, President of the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation. "With over $85,000 raised from their very beginnings as a Pedal for Kids participant, TECSYS is a perfect fit for this event, which brings together hundreds of individuals, businesses and community groups for an exciting and lively tour around downtown Montreal, all with the common goal of helping sick children at the Montreal Children's Hospital."

Pedal for Kids has become an annual undertaking for TECSYS' Montreal office. In the weeks leading up to the event, the team hosted a number of fundraising activities. Those efforts placed the team from TECSYS among the top 3 companies participating in Pedal for Kids.

"This cause resonates with so many of us because we have all seen the benefits from the excellent care that our children, nieces, and nephews have received at this hospital. The money we raise helps these children have access to the best pediatric care possible, and that is all we can ask for when our youngest and most vulnerable need help. Our team at TECSYS is humbled by the incredible work these caregivers do and by the strength of those families who need it. It is truly heartwarming to see the outpour of compassion that our TECSYS family has for community, and this is a wonderful example of that kindness."
