NORWELL, Mass. - June 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Eric Edelman, PT and owner of Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, a South Shore practice specializing in unique programs that provide comprehensive treatment in orthopedic, spine and sports medicine specialties, presented a concussion management talk during the recent Sports Information Night at Quincy High School.

Caused by direct or indirect trauma to the brain, sports-related concussions have been receiving much attention recently with many impacted athletes suffering from post-concussive syndrome, which leads to cognitive, balance and visual problems.

Edelman addressed the signs and symptoms of a concussion during the presentation and provided information about post-concussion management.  This protocol helps patients resume normal functioning more quickly, as well as alleviate concussion side effects such as headaches, neck pain and vestibular disorders.

"With many student athletes involved in contact sports, the importance of concussion management cannot be overstated," said Edelman.  "We were pleased to speak at Quincy High's Sports Information Night and provide information about this important issue."
