Which Country Imports the Most Unvulcanized Rubber in the World?

 
WALNUT, Calif. - June 5, 2018 - PRLog -- According to the report "World: Cocoa Powder (Not Sweetened) - Market Report. Analysis and Forecast to 2025", recently published by IndexBox, the global unvulcanized rubber imports stood at 1.9M tonnes in 2016, dropping by -29.8% against the previous year figure. In general, unvulcanized rubber imports continue to indicate a moderate shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010, when import increased by 12% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, global unvulcanized rubber imports reached its maximum volume of 3.3M tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, unvulcanized rubber imports totaled $5.3B in 2016. In general, unvulcanized rubber imports continue to indicate a mild shrinkage. Global unvulcanized rubber import peaked of $11B in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Unvulcanized Rubber Imports By Country

The imports of the twelve major importers of unvulcanized rubber, namely Germany, Poland, China, the U.S., France, Spain, Italy, Canada, Belgium, Mexico, Romania, and Turkey, represented more than two-thirds of total import.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of unvulcanized rubber imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Turkey (+7.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($494M), the U.S. ($452M) and Poland ($447M) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together accounting for 26% of global imports.China, France, Spain, Mexico, Italy, Canada, Belgium, Romania and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.

Mexico (+7.4% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of unvulcanized rubber imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Unvulcanized Rubber Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for unvulcanized rubber amounted to $2,730 per tonne, going up by 14% against the previous year. Overall, it indicated a modest increase from 2007 to 2016: the import price value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011, when import increased by 29% year-to-year. In that year, average unvulcanized rubber import price attained its maximum level of $3,924 per tonne. From 2012 to 2016, growth of average unvulcanized rubber import price stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was Mexico ($3,756 per tonne), while Turkey ($1,541 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of unvulcanized rubber import prices was attained by Mexico (+5.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
