Massachusetts Pirates Battle to Remain Undefeated on Home Turf

NORWELL, Mass. - May 25, 2018 - PRLog -- The Massachusetts Pirates will host the Jacksonville Sharks, the defending champion in the National Arena League, on Saturday, May 26^th beginning at 7 pm at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.

The Pirates are undefeated at home in three games this season and have a 5-2 overall record with the second best winning percentage in the league (714). Jacksonville is bringing momentum to Saturday's matchup with a three game winning streak after starting their season off with three losses.

Saturday is Cancer Awareness Night at the DCU featuring an appearance from Joe Andruzzi representing his Andruzzi Foundation. 100% of all proceeds from a postgame auction of the specialty jerseys will be donated to the Andruzzi Foundation.

The Massachusetts Pirates fans are enjoying the play of Wide Receiver Mardy Gilyard who arrived in week four and has caught 32 passes for 279 yards and eight touchdowns plus another score rushing. Gilyard, along with Devonn Brown and Lavon Pearson have caught 26 of quarterback Sean Brackett's 29 touchdown passes this season.

The Sharks welcomed quarterback Adrian McPherson in week four and the team has turned around their season with a three game winning streak.

"As we reach the mid way point of the season we've seen our team make some big strides in how we prepare and how we approach each and every game. There is still a lot of growing we need to do as a team and organization, but we are a persistent group and are working towards achieving the goals we had set out prior to playing the first game," said Jawad Yatim, President of the Massachusetts Pirates. It should be a good atmosphere at the DCU Center on Saturday night and we certainly look forward to it."

Fans can also enjoy the games on NESN (New England Sports Network) which is televising all eight (8) Pirates home games during the 2018 season on tape-delay on NESNplus. Each of these games will also air on NESN National and on NESN primary during the week.
