Jennifer's Boutique Collecting Canned Goods for Community Cooperative in June

FORT MYERS, Fla. - May 23, 2018 - PRLog -- Jennifer's women's boutique is collecting canned goods for Community Cooperative's "Summer Drive for Hunger" throughout the month of June.  Shoppers who donate a minimum of 10 items will receive 20% off their entire purchase.

"The summer months can be difficult for families who can't rely on the schools to feed their hungry children," said Jennifer Williams, owner of Jennifer's. More than 70 percent of Lee County students qualify for free/reduced breakfast and lunch during the school year.   Community Cooperative ensures that these children don't go hungry during the summer."

Suggested donation items include peanut butter, lean canned protein (tuna, salmon or chicken in water), low sodium or no salt added canned vegetables, canned fruit in juice or water, tomato products including spaghetti sauce and dried tomatoes, canned or dried beans, hot or cold whole grain cereal, whole grain pasta, brown rice or quinoa and healthy snacks including fruit cups, granola bars and raisins.  No glass containers, please.

Last June Jennifer's collected nearly 1,200 pounds of food for Community Cooperative.  This year's goal is 1,500 pounds.
