The Workforce Development Board of Solano County Partners with Northern California Laborers' Training Center to Provide Program as Pathway to TradesBy: The Workforce Development Board of Solano County Trainees will gain four industry-recognized credentials as part of the training. Direct placement into the Laborers' Apprenticeship is available with a potential earning of $18.69/hr. Training starts June 25 in Vacaville. Pre-apprenticeship training includes: · Safety certification · HAZWOPER · Fundamentals of construction · Concrete pouring techniques · Trades math, fitness training and more "Construction trades provide an amazing opportunity to build a high-wage, rewarding career in our region," said Heather Henry, president and executive director of the Workforce Development Board of Solano County. "We are thrilled to provide an entry way for our community's young adults into this high-growth industry." This training is offered at NO COST to men and women between ages 18-24 meeting eligibility requirements. Requirements include: Ability to read, speak and write Basic English; pass a drug test; obtain a driver's license. Interested parties are invited to come to an information session at the Workforce Development Board of Solano County, 320 Campus Lane, Fairfield, CA, offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. from May 29 through June 15, 2018. No appointment is necessary but seats are limited.
