GREENVILLE, Pa. - May 20, 2018 - PRLog -- Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, announces its health systems program that will train students to be leaders in healthcare.

The program is an interdisciplinary collaboration of Thiel's (https://www.thiel.edu/) departments of Biology, Neuroscience and Psychology. Students will choose an adviser from one of those three departments. The program gives students a well-rounded preparation for a career in a health-related field or graduate-level training in health services manager, physician assistant or occupational or physical therapy degrees.

The health systems degree opens the door for careers that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has said have higher median salaries such as occupational and physical therapists, physician's assistants or a health service manager. According to the Bureau, those professions all have median salaries of more than $85,000.

The program also is designed to provide a seamless transition for students who wish to build on Thiel College's excellent liberal arts base and be considered for admission into accredited nursing programs around the country.

"The multi-billion dollar healthcare field will continue to need professionals with the critical thinking skills and academic background that liberal arts colleges provide. The health systems program combines so many of the great qualities of Thiel College," Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Liz Frombgen, Ph.D., said. "The interdisciplinary collaboration and the traditional liberal arts background will continue our outstanding history of preparing students for professional success."
