Attivo Networks to Present Alongside FBI Special Agent at FS-ISAC Annual Summit
Attivo Networks Chief Deception Officer Carolyn Crandall to Present Alongside FBI Special Agent Jason Manar at Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center Annual Summit
By: Attivo Networks
On Tuesday, in a session titled Threat Intelligence, Counterintelligence, and Hack Back; The Active Cyber Defense Bill and Balanced Active Defense, Attivo Networks Chief Deception Officer, Carolyn Crandall, and FBI Cyber Crime Supervisory Special Agent, Jason Manar, will explore deception technology's role for an active defense and the potential impact of proposed changes to cybersecurity legislation.
The session will discuss the current Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), cyberdefense challenges, and the potential impact of the Active Cyber Defense Certainty Act or other similar bills. The measure, also known as ACDC, proposes amendments to the CFAA, giving victims of persistent cyberattacks the option to hack back as an active defense cyber measure. The discussion will include alternative options to hacking back, how to work with the FBI during a breach, and how innovative technologies like threat deception are being used to gather threat, adversary, and counterintelligence for reducing attacker dwell time and creating an Active Defense.
While media is restricted to attend the FS-ISAC Annual Summit, Attivo Networks' Carolyn Crandall is available for post-summit briefings by request. If you'd like to connect with Carolyn to discuss, please reach out to Matter Communications on behalf of Attivo Networks at PRAttivo@matternow.com.
