United Premier Soccer League Welcomes Florida's Macca Ballers FC as Southeast Expansion Club

LOS ANGELES - May 18, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to welcome Macca Ballers FC as a league member for the 2018 Season.

Based in Winter Park (Fla.), Macca Ballers FC will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida Central Division, and host its home games at Showalter Stadium (2525 Cady Way, Winter Park, FL 32792) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "There's a ton of passion for the game in Florida, and we're pleased to bring Macca Ballers FC into the mix in the UPSL Southeast Conference Florida Central Division. Owner Rodger Wright is a big believer in the possibilities for the UPSL and what it means, long term, for his vision for his soccer club. We wish Macca Ballers FC every success."

Macca Baller FC is currently led by local coaches Derron Cornwall and Riddle (Ray) Foster. Both natives of Jamaica, Cornwall and Foster have coached more than 90 players who transitioned from club to college, a number of whom have moved on to the professional level.

Macca Ballers FC Owner Rodger Wright said, "Macca Ballers FC was started with dedicated coached and volunteers who worked tirelessly to help young players from urban areas in Central Florida transition from club and high school soccer to collegiate level soccer. We believe UPSL is the right platform for us to provide our dedicated collegiate and non-collegiate players a place to demonstrate their soccer abilities."

Cornwall played at the University of Central Florida helps develop young players and coaches in Central Florida. He works in higher education.

Foster played for the Cornell University club team and has an extensive youth club coaching resume with his latest entry a stint as head coach of the Florida Kraze Krush (ECNL).

"We feel that there is no better time than now to part of UPSL because it has made a huge impact in the Central Florida region, more than any other league before," Wright said. "Many of Macca Baller FC player have participated in club leagues throughout the Florida Youth Soccer Association and have won numerous tournaments and titles."

Macca Ballers FC next plays Internacional USA at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 19.
