Combat Contaminants with Teknomek's Anti-microbial Range

Matting can be deployed to remove contaminants from shoes and to also electromagnetically attract airborne particles. While mats are most commonly placed at entrances/exits of cleanrooms, they can greatly improve hygiene for the long-term if used as part of a cumulative strategy throughout the facility.

Sole footbath mats are deep-sided and made from colourfast, chlorine-resistant high-density polythene. Each holds up to 18.9 litres of sanitising solution and can fit in most main doorways to help prevent contamination between areas. These mats are available in black, blue and yellow to help segregate working areas and feature built-in handles to allow for quick and easy disposal of used liquid.

Sticky tack matting attracts airborne particles electromagnetically as well as holding onto dust and dirt on contact to remove 98% of contaminants from footwear. It is available in permanent or disposable options to suit the environment and foot traffic.

The permanent matting is designed for long-term use to reduce cost and waste – a simple clean with mild detergent and tackiness is restored. The disposable polythene mats are a convenient alternative, each mat has 30 numbered layers that can be torn off at the end of each day (or as necessary) and disposed of. These products are available in a range of sizes or can be produced bespoke for specific use cases.

So, that looks after the feet, however 80% of infections are spread by touch and that's where Teknomek's sanitising door handle comes in. This product offers a greater level of support for hygiene routines by automatically releasing virucidal hand gel when pulled, helping prevent pathogens from being brought into sterile environments.

The SoP for sanitising hands is built into the simple action of opening the door. Therefore it's a sensible move to place gel dispensing handles as a last line of defence at the entrance to clean rooms, labs and other hygiene controlled areas.

The sanitising gel used in the door handle eliminates MHRA, as well as other harmful viruses and bacteria including campylobacter and listeria. Independent swab testing found users' hands were 87% cleaner after using the gel dispensing handles. It is non-perfumed and non-tainting and is tested to EN1500, EN13727, 12054 and EN14476 (virucidal) for hand rubs.

Inside the sterile environment, Teknomek's new anti-microbial strip curtains offer an additional level of security. Silver ions are incorporated during the manufacturing process to prevent the growth of bacteria, including MRSA. This product is typically used to keep differently graded areas separate, thus minimising the risk of cross-contamination.

Teknomek's Class 7 clean room certified chairs have been developed to combine the hygienic and the ergonomic.
