The EDC was on hiatus last year, but returns bigger than ever this time around, and earlier in the year than previously, the first time the festival has taken place as early as May.
One thing that hasn't change dis that the festival will once again be streaming live online, with a live stream made availavle by organises Insomniac events in conjunction with live stream platform LiveXLive, who are covering several of the major US music festivals this summer.
Electric Daisy Carnival lineup
Always attracting the biggest names in the business, this year is no exception, with some top line talent headlining the Vegas EDC.
Electric Daisy Carnival, commonly known as EDC, is an annual electronic dance music festival, with its flagship event held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since its inception, other EDC events have been held at venues in the United States and abroad, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, the UK, Brazil, Japan and India.
In 2009, EDC became a two-day event, and in 2011 a three-day event in Las Vegas that drew 230,000 people. In 2015 it drew more than 400,000 over three days (134,000 per day)
EDC 2018 is scheduled for May 18-20; the festival was moved from its traditional June scheduling so that it will be held in relatively cooler conditions. The festival also introduced on-site camping (including rentable campers and RV parking) and earlier opening times in order to reduce traffic congestion.
You can watch the live stream online here:
Las Vegas Motor Speedway, located in Clark County, Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada about 15 miles northeast of the Las Vegas Strip, is a 1,200-acre complex of multiple tracks for motorsports racing. The complex is owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc., which is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina
The association between the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Electric Daisy carnival goes way back to March 2011, when Insomniac Events first announced that their largest rave festival in North America, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), would take place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the first time on June 24–26. More than 235,000 people attended the three-day event. The 2012 event was held June 8–10 with an attendance of 315,000 people. The 2013 event was held June 21–23 with an attendance of approximately 345,000 people. The 2014 event was held on June 20–22, and the 2015 event took place June 19–21. The twentieth anniversary EDC Las Vegas 2016 took place June 17–19, 2016; the 2018 version of the festival will run on 15-17 June 2018. Insomniac has signed a ten-year contract with LVMS to host EDC through 2022.
