NEW YORK - May 15, 2018 - PRLog -- Beat the Streets is pleased to announce that it will be featuring matches between highly accomplished student-athletes from New York City and visitors from Baltimore, Chicago, Providence, R.I., and Philadelphia at its annual benefit on Thursday at Pier 17/Seaport District NYC, dubbed the "Rumble on the River." The gala is Beat the Streets' annual fundraiser that helps provide wrestling equipment and opportunities to 3,000 kids across the five boroughs every year. A total of 15 youth match-ups will be held starting at 2:30 p.m., prior to the NYC PSAL Girls Dual Meet Championships between Brooklyn's Edward R. Murrow HS and Bronx's Harry S. Truman HS at 4 p.m. and world-class wrestling matches between members of Team USA, Team Cuba and Team Nigeria beginning at 6.

Several of the matches will also include youngsters from Newtown Youth Wrestling/Sandy Hook, Conn.

The youth competition features the following matchups:

• 60 lbs., Sara Jacobs (BTSNY/Monsignor Farrell) vs. Gaby Conte (Upstate N.Y./Total Force WC)
• 76 lbs., Cameron Mayfield (BTSNY/Eagle) vs. Luca Manfredi (Newtown/Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown Middle School)
• 95 lbs., Michael Adams (BTSNY/Monsignor Farrell) vs. Lebron Pendles (BTS Baltimore/Guilford)
• 95 lbs., Nyah Colon (BTSNY/Rocco Laurie) vs. Crystal Saucedo (BTS Chicago/Calmeca Elem.)
• 115 lbs., Isaias Torres (BTSNY/Upper Ten) vs. Joshua Butler (BTS Chicago/Kenwood Acad.)
• 115 lbs., Nathaly Pichardo (BTSNY/Inwood) vs. Nayanna Carvalho (BTS Providence/Nathanael Greene)
• 120 lbs., Terry Adams (BTSNY/Monsignor Farrell) vs. Zimir Rice (BTS Philadelphia/Overbrook HS)
• 125 lbs., Mitchell Barcus (BTSNY/Eagle) vs. Zaire Crawford (BTS Philadelphia/Belmont Charter)

• 55 lbs., Eric Bocanegra (BTSNY/Elite Wrestling Acad.) vs. Max Malitzky (Newtown/Sandy Hook/Sandy Hook Elementary)

The PSAL Girls Dual Meet Championships between Edward R. Murrow HS and Harry S. Truman HS follows at 4 p.m. Truman is the top seed and is the returning PSAL Champion, defeating Wingate 43-10 at last year's BTS Benefit in Times Square. Truman, this year's Bronx Division champion, defeated Brooklyn Tech 29-25 in the semifinals, and Bryant 33-17 in the quarterfinals. Murrow is the second seed and will be making their first-ever appearance in the PSAL Girls Wrestling Championships. Murrow won the Brooklyn Division championship and defeated Wingate 29-26 in the semifinals and Bronx Science 39-16 in the quarterfinals.

After the youth and PSAL matchups, Olympic and World medalists headline the United States men's and women's lineups against Cuba (men) and Nigeria (women). The U.S. men's roster includes 2016 Olympic champion and two-time World champion Kyle Snyder, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and 2017 World bronze medalist J'den Cox,two-time World bronze medalist James Green, 2017 World bronze medalist Nick Gwiazdowski, four-time NCAA champion Kyle Dake and three-time NCAA qualifier Josh Rodriguez. The U.S. women include 2016 Olympic gold medalist Helen Maroulis, U23 World Team Member Megan Black and U.S. World Team member Tamyra Mensah-Stock.
