EAST PALO ALTO, Calif. - May 14, 2018 - PRLog -- 10 Books A Home (10BH) is excited to announce that it will be hosting a free event for the families it serves together with the 49ers EDU. The event will take place at the 20,000 square foot space of 49ers Museum at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara and will provide engaging learning activities for 10BH learners and their parents.

An afternoon of fun is planned with the 49ers Museum providing learning platforms that connect, inspire, and engage students through relevant content, interactive explorations, group/peer collaboration, application of skills learned and student reflection. 10BH volunteers will be leading various activity stations that include arts and crafts, making a 3D football, designing player uniforms, a building station where they can construct a football field using blocks and K'NEX, as well as a 20 yard dash so kids can get a feel for what it's like to be a star athlete.

This event comes on the backend of 10BH's collaboration with 49ers rookie Solomon Thomas. Last November the defensive lineman selected 10BH for the My Cause My Cleats campaign (http://www.espn.com/blog/san-francisco-49ers/post/_/id/29...), showcasing his custom-made 10BH cleats during the NFL Week 13 games. The cleats, designed by 10BH learner Danny Arrellin, underlined Thomas' belief in 10BH's innovative efforts to prevent the achievement gap.

The 49ers Museum Family event will be taking place on June 2 from 11am-2pm. Please  email Anubha Jain at anubha@10booksahome.org for more information.

About 10 Books A Home

10 Books A Home (10BH) is a home tutoring nonprofit founded in 2009 for high-poverty preschoolers and their parents in the Ravenswood City School District in East Palo Alto and Easy Menlo Park. Learners receive two years of fully customized home tutoring from age 3 until they enter kindergarten with parents participating in and between every lesson. 10BH tracks their academic achievement to determine that its mission to "prevent the achievement gap" is being delivered, meaning children enter grade school at or above grade level.

In 2017, the organization collected the results (http://www.10booksahome.org/uploads/2/6/6/9/26690767/10bh...) of all four years of learners to graduate our program, most of whom are English Language Learners (ELLs). ELL graduates outperformed their CA English Language Learner (ELL) peers by 392% in Math and 325% in English. All graduates performed better than their CA high-poverty peers, and in some instances performed as well as or better than higher income peers. To find out more about 10 Books A Homevisit the organization's website: www.10booksahome.org
