What if the Irish folklore, legends, and mythology were real?
By: Rebel Press
What if the Irish folklore, legends, and mythology were real? Antíríon: The Forgotten Isle answers this question through the epic story of a young girl living in Ireland during the early 20th century. Through a shift of fate, Katie Sullivan and her companions are swept into a parallel world, where the ancient Irish mythical creatures have been preserved from the sands of time. Antíríon, the pure country, was once a land of beauty ruled by pure and just creatures. However, in recent years, evil has fallen upon the country. The very spirits and faeriës who preserve the countryside are disunited, and it seems that the fate of Antíríon rests in the hands of the only race of creatures who can save her: humans from another world.
If you were a fan of fantasy as a teen, you will be swept up into the realm of Antíríon. Taking a fresh twist on the classic images of banshees, fairiës, and leprechauns, and adding other less-known creatures from Irish mythology, Antíríon: The Forgotten Isle, is a fantasy novel rich in ancient Irish culture and filled to the brim with medieval excitement and danger.
About the author:
"I am that CS Lewisian, Tolkienite child that could never be drawn away from the fantastical. That is how Antíríon: The Forgotten Isle was born - out of the mind of a 13-year-old. Almost ten years later, I find myself staring at a self-published book and at least two more books in my head because the story is far from over! My four years of college at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and my double majors in English and History have only solidified that fact. I love writing, and I never would have imagined the complicated social structures, the fantastical creatures, and the deep culture Antíríon would possess when I first put pen to paper at age 13. My Irish heritage, my love for horses, and my passion for training them keeps me tuned to the beautiful way nature speaks and instructs us. Books like Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, the poetry of the British Romantics, and character-forming classics like Anne of Green Gables have shaped the way I see our world! Its history is riddled with so many legends, many completely untapped by creative writers. These stories are mirrors of the world in which we live. Push them through the door of faith so they can enter reality!"
