BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - May 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Dogs all over the UK are wagging their tails and barking with delight, with the announcement that the popular Pilgrim Country House Hotel in the Wye Valley, has reversed a ban on our four-legged friends and is once again welcoming them with open paws!

Comments Steve Boyle, ex-England and Lions rugby international and hands-on owner of the hotel: "We had always been dog-friendly, and the vast majority of owners and their pooches are well behaved.

"However, after re-decorating and re-furnishing much of the hotel, and finding the occasional not-picked-up 'deposit' in our extensive grounds, we took the decision to ban dogs.

"But here at the Pilgrim we have a fantastic level of repeat visitors, and many of our past dog-owning guests have requested to return with their pets, so we have made a Government-like U-turn and welcomed them back!

"Any four-legged guests will have to be on their best behaviour though, as we will be monitoring the situation closely and banning any badly-behaved canines and putting pictures of them on our hall of shame board in reception."

The hotel's lounge bar is more akin to a cosy country pub, with a wide range of local ales and ciders (Herefordshire is cider country after all), and dinner is enjoyed in the Valley Restaurant which has views across the Wales border towards the Black Mountains.

The location is mid-way between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye, slap bang on the Herefordshire Trail.

The area is rich in great walking, and there are also plenty of options for keen anglers (Steve, a keen fisherman himself can advise on the best spots).

The town of Hereford, with its famous cathedral and Cider Museum, and the pretty town of Ross-on-Wye are both within a short drive and well worth a visit.

There is currently a spring offer which includes two-nights' B&B, plus £25 per person towards dinner each evening, from £109 per person (two sharing a room).

Well-behaved dogs cost £10 (per dog) per night.
