First Class Inks A Deal W/ Tcb Records®
By: TCB RECORDS®
So FCB, how long have you been making tracks / beats?
I've been producing/writing since '05.
How long have you wanted to be in music?
At first it was just a hobby of mine, but five orrrr huh...like 6 years old, I began noticing I was somewhat gifted. And others started to notice this too. It was dope how something inside me, clicked! And I began taking it seriously and started creating bangers you know? Good quality music. That's when I decided I would challenge myself, and I set my sights on getting into the industry as a producer.
How has music changed since you started in the game?
The only change that I've realistically noticed is the way social media makes it easier to be heard. You never know who you are going to connect with and hear your product on Twitter or YouTube. It's super easy to network and find folk who have the same common interests and the same passion for the craft. Social media is what really changed the game in my opinion.
Who was your favorite musician growing up?
Honestly; I never had a favorite musician, I was just always a huge fan of hip hop & R&B. I love different pieces of material from a whole assortment of producers and artists.
Who would you most like to work with?
Producer-wise I would love to work with Dr. Dre because he's a FREAKIN genius in the studio. I've been listening to him my whole life, and I'm convinced he's not human! Or maybe just "super human, WITH SUPER POWERS" but either way he is a mastermind…no doubt!
And Artist-wise it would have to be the one and only "Snow Tha Product". She is ridiculous on the mic and I already know I can make her some serious flame. That would be a dream come true. And understand, I'd love working with anyone who loves this sh*t as much as I do, and we can connect vibe together. Straight up!
What is it like being signed to a label like TCB Records?
It's still setting in that I'm on a label now to be honest…LOL!
How different is it working with your label TCB, compared to being independent…
Working with TCB as opposed to doing this on my own is super comforting. Instead of having that doubt in mind that I may not make it…I replaced that with "I can't wait to make it" because I "KNOW" the label wants nothing more than to see me successful…that's why they've invested in me. On my own it was cool, but now it's a lot more serious and I'll be able to be heard by a lot more people. Again, it's just a blessing in every way.
Okay FIRST CLASS BEATZ last question, what would you like people to know about you?
If anything, I'd just want people to know that I never gave up on what I set my sights on. I've sacrificed a lot for this sh*t. Got fired from jobs because I'd call off a lot just to stay in the lab (studio) and make beats. Quit my 9-5 because all I'd wanted to do is make beats. If you love something, nothing should prevent you from making something happen. Nothing in this universe has to offer is strong enough to take away my love and passion for music, and now I get to let the world know what I'm made of.
