BREATHE California of Los Angeles County – 2018 BREATH of Life Awards®

LOS ANGELES - May 7, 2018 - PRLog -- BREATHE LA celebrated its 115th year of improving air quality and protecting lung health by honoring key civic leaders and corporations at the 2018 BREATH of Life Awards® on Friday, April 27th at the La Brea Tar Pits Museum in Los Angeles.

BREATHE LA was thrilled to recognize the following corporate and civic leaders for their accomplishments focused on promoting clean air and healthy lungs through research, education, advocacy, and technology.

Cummins Westport received the Innovation Award for developing a heavy-duty truck engine that is 90-percent cleaner than the current federal standard.

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority received the Community Impact Award for their efforts in reducing air pollution by incorporating sustainable best practices into their operations and programs.

The 33rd Attorney General of the State of California, Xavier Becerra, received the Civic Leadership Award for his efforts in the Court of Law to protect the environment and ensure that Californians can breathe clean air and drink clean water.

And the 2018 Breath of Life Award recipient, Terry Tamminen, whose life's work has been to improve our world by overseeing numerous global environmental and climate change initiatives so that we can live on a more sustainable and healthy planet.
