Indianapolis Drug Rehab Programs Aided by Software

A software platform called Open Beds has been added to drug rehab programs in facilities across Indianapolis.
 
INDIANAPOLIS - May 7, 2018 - PRLog -- A software platform called Open Beds has has been paced in several hospitals in Indianapolis.

Dr. Nishi Rawat, a John Hopkins University School of Medicine physician, created Open Beds. The program was originally used to help patients with critical condition in their long-term care.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse asked Rawat three years ago to advance the tech to be used in drug rehabilitation program.

After gathering and exchanging notes with government officials and medical providers, her team was able to create a software that could assist hospitals with drug rehab programs.

Open Beds, based in Washington D.C., has been important in helping drug rehab programs. The software provides immediate information on the substance abuse centers that are available to acquire a new patient.

The software also places unique information to be entered regarding a patient's personal needs and what can be done to help them.

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) affiliated with Open Beds to assist in combating the opioid epidemic. A law called the 21st Century Cures Act funded the money and it also included Indiana 2-1-1, which is a free service that assists Indiana residents locate the medical resources they need. The service helps those with substance abuse to to find drug rejab programs that they need. The 2-1-1 service also gives disaster assistance, job and housing support.
