WASHINGTON - May 7, 2018 - PRLog -- An unprecedented number of Chief Procurement Officers of Fortune 1000 Corporations will gather at the 2018 CelebrAsian Procurement & Business Conference to discuss with their peers selected key issues and challenges relevant to supply chain management in the United States and in the global arena. Their discussions are part of CelebrAsian, "Smart World: Business – Talents – Technology," which runs May 29 to June 1, 2018, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and is the national flagship event of the USPAACC (US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation).

The CPO Council Meeting, an invitation-only event, will help CPOs from various industries assess the current procurement landscape, get insight into trends and outlook, and make informed decisions in supply chain management to help their respective organizations. It will take place on May 30 (Wednesday) from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

The Meeting will include speakers from the Heritage Foundation who is a former Trump campaign advisor, from the Cato Institute who has a contrarian view, and a supply chain management expert. They will share different perspectives on President Trump's current trade policies.

Among the questions to be answered at this event are: What are the resulting positive and negative repercussions on the U.S. and global supply chain management? How will Trump's policies affect the U.S. economic growth rate? Would forecasts reveal trepidations about shortages in raw materials, commodities, rare minerals, and components that could adversely impact the flow of goods and services? Are there new and viable approaches to help identify and manage sources of vendor risks and mitigate their effects? And much more.

The CPO Council Meeting is chaired by Angie Kletts of Nationwide, who will also chair the CPO Forum, another event held during the CelebrAsian Conference that will present top procurement officers from leading Fortune 1000 companies sharing their expertise on domestic and global trends in the supply chain and what small businesses must do to align with the strategic needs of these corporations in the global marketplace. This event will be held on Wednesday from 10:15 am to 11:45 am.

PepsiCo Chairman & CEO Indra K. Nooyi is the Conference Chair, and she will hold a fireside chat to share her journey from India to become Chairman & CEO of PepsiCo and the #2 "Most Powerful Woman in Business," according to Fortune magazine. PepsiCo has a 19-year uninterrupted commitment to and support of USPAACC's work, which has spurred economic growth and professional advancement of Pan Asian Americans and businesses nationwide.
