CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. - May 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Tikkun Leil Shavuot at MCJC: An evening of Jewish Inspiration

"From Jesus to the Lubavitcher Rebbe: Jewish perspectives on Messianic Redemption"

Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 7:00 pm

Within Judaism, the term Messiah has many connotations and contradictions. In the Hebrew Bible, the term referred to an "anointed one," a divinely chosen figure who would bring to fruition God's plan for His people and for all humankind. In Talmudic and Medieval rabbinic literature, the term conjures up images of a future world filled with peace and divine tranquility. Join Rabbi Tom Samuels of the McHenry County Jewish Congregation in an exploration of how the idea of Messianic Redemption evolved, and continues to evolve, throughout Jewish thought and history.

All are welcome to experience Shabbat at MCJC: Friday nights at 6:30 pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:30 am.Services are led by Rabbi Tom Samuels.

MCJC is located on Ridgefield Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake, accessible from Route 14.
