ABWA Humble Artesian League named Marjory Saklou the 2018 Woman of Excellence

HUMBLE, Texas - May 2, 2018 - PRLog -- The Humble Artesian League of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) named Marjory Saklou the 2018 Woman of Excellence. Each year Humble Artesian emphasizes the outstanding achievements of our members by electing a Woman of Excellence. The Federation of Houston Professional Women at an annual banquet recognizes the Woman of Excellence each year. A FHPW Woman of Excellence Honoree is a woman that has demonstrated excellence in her profession and the community, and one that leaves a lasting impression on the organizations she serves and the people she helps.

The Federation of Houston Professional Women (FHPW) is a Houston group that has many different kinds of chapters in it. The FHPW sponsors this Woman of Excellence event to honor outstanding businesswomen in the Houston area. The WOE award is only given out one time to a woman no matter what group she is in. Funds raised by the event support scholarships for women in our community.

Marjory Saklou will be presented with her 2018 Woman of Excellence award on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Norris Conference Center. The Awards Gala has an attendance of more than 400 members and guests from around the Houston area and surrounding areas.

Marjory is currently a real estate agent for JLA Realty. When asked what she most enjoys about her career she said, "I enjoy working with my clients from all cultures and all walks of lives find their first home, dream home, or sell a loved one's home. The process of developing relationships with the client to find them what will work for them and what they need is always fun. It is an honor that they allow me to be their agent."

The Humble Artesian Chapter of the American Business Women's Association has a long history in our area. The Humble Charter Chapter was chartered in 1979, and the Artesian Chapter in 1981. The chapters combined their resources in 1989, becoming Humble Artesian Chapter. The chapter continues to be a wonderful representation of the many businesses and services offered in our area.

The Humble Artesian League of ABWA is part of a national network of businesswomen.  Founded in 1949, ABWA is a strong association of chapters and Express Networks nationwide.  ABWA provides business skills training and networking opportunities for women of diverse occupations to enhance career advancement and personal development.  ABWA has dedicated more than half a century to women's education and provided workplace skills and career development for their members.
