-- David Haye, who lost his previous fight due to injury, and having to throw the towel in, in his first match against Bellew is getting ready for his big fight this weekend. educogym Moorgate explain how fighters and boxers like Haye may prepare for a fight including his diet, training and what is really involved for a boxer before a fight that many fans may not realise. "Many boxers, MMA fighters and more have serious weight limits to hit in order to participate in a fight, not reaching this weight will mean they cannot participate and so it is vital they are at a low enough weight to compete, however they also need to build and maintain muscle in order to be strong enough to win, it's tough to achieve this and involves very strict nutrition and training, and some individuals take it to the extreme lengths, many of which are very unhealthy and dangerous" explained Orlstyne Wilson, personal trainer at educogym Moorgate.
The average weight loss for a person on a diet, is around 1-2 pounds a week, however some boxers and MMA fighters have been found to lose a whopping 17 pounds in one day. "The individuals in industries that involve weight limits can find themselves obsessing over weight. Ronda Rowsey for example was known to lose 17 pounds in one day, she spent 5 hours in a sauna and is a prime example of the extremes people will go to, to lose weight for sport." explained Godfrey Nurse, personal trainer at educogym Moorgate. "Humans carry a huge amount of water weight, so many boxers and fighters go to extremes the day before a fight, sitting in scorching hot baths, saunas and more, it's actually very dangerous and it's surprising that these practices are still happening in this day and age, and that they are still allowed" continues Godfrey Nurse, from educogym Moorgate.
"At educogym Moorgate, we get some fantastic results, we work on training, nutrition and most importantly the mind. It's a full body and mind transformation, our clients can lose 5, 10, 20 pounds in a month, we do it a healthy way, not putting clients into a bath of boiling water to dehydrate the weight off" stated Orlstyne Wilson, educogym Moorgate personal trainer. "Some of our nutrition programs do help clients to lose water weight but cutting down carbs, but not to the dangerous extent some fighters go to" he continued.
The fight takes place this Saturday at around 10pm on Sky sports, educogym Moorgate will be watching, but will you?http://educogymcity.com
