US imports from Turkey in 2017 totaled $9.9 billion, up 16.27% ($1.4 billion) from 2016.
US trade balance with Turkey went from a surplus of $0.9 billion in 2016, to a deficit of $0.2 billion in 2017.
Turkey was the US 32nd largest trading partner in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 0.4973% of US total trade (up from 0.4836% in 2016).
Turkey was the US 28th largest export market in 2017 (up from 29th in 2016), accounting for 0.6307% of US total exports (down from 0.6454% in 2016).
Turkey was the US 34th largest supplier in 2017 (down from 33rd in 2016), accounting for 0.4116% of US total imports (up from 0.3790% in 2016).
The largest gains in US exports to Turkey in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
•Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation;
•Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $346.3 million;
•Cotton (HS code 52) - an increase of $236.0 million;
