United Premier Soccer League Welcomes Concord (N.C.)-Based Expansion Club Broncos United FC NC
UPSL Mid-Atlantic Division Pro Development Club Hosting Its Games at 3,695-seat Rocky River High School Stadium
Based in Concord (N.C.), Broncos United FC NC has begun UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division, and hosts its home games at Rocky River High School (10505 Clear Creek Commerce Dr., Mint Hill, NC 28227) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "Club growth will always be supported by the UPSL, and we are excited that Broncos United FC NC has joined the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division. While Broncos United FC continues to rise in the UPSL's Southeast Conference Florida South Division, the club's growth into North Carolina shows a willingness to venture into new markets to find untapped potential. We wish Broncos United FC NC every success as they get their first season underway."
Scott Wagner, 60, is Director of Player Development for Broncos United FC NC. A native of New York and a business owner in the home interiors and flooring industries, Wagner, 60, has spent nearly 30 years as a club and high school soccer coach and administrator.
Broncos United FC NC Director of Player Development Scott Wagner said, "We started this team strictly for player development. We know that we're going to run up against 25-, 26- and 27-year-old players, former professional players, Division 2 players and the like, so we know it's going to be tough when we're fielding a team of 17-, 18- and 19-year-olds. This is a good thing for the community and a good thing for the kids, and the UPSL is bringing a higher level for players who wouldn't otherwise see opportunities to play past high school."
Armando Pacheco, 41, serves as the team's Head Coach.
Broncos United FC NC (1-1-1 overall) plays host to Lowcountry United FC at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 28.
