US trade in goods with New Zealand in 2017

US exports to New Zealand in 2017 totaled $3.9 billion, up 9.59% ($0.3 billion) from 2016.

US imports from New Zealand in 2017 totaled $4.3 billion, up 1.86% ($0.1 billion) from 2016.

US trade deficit with New Zealand in 2017 was $0.4 billion, a 39.22% decrease ($0.3 billion) over 2016.

New Zealand was the US 49th largest trading partner in 2017 (down from 47th in 2016), accounting for 0.2086% of US total trade (down from 0.2114% in 2016).

New Zealand was the US 48th largest export market in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 0.2536% of US total exports (up from 0.2462% in 2016).

New Zealand was the US 53rd largest supplier in 2017 (down from 52nd in 2016), accounting for 0.1798% of US total imports (down from 0.1889% in 2016).

The largest gains in US exports to New Zealand in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
•Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $145.6 million;
•Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $81.9 million;
•Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $73.6 million.
