Maker, crafter and exhibitor deadline is May 8
Makers, crafters and exhibitors of all types and ages are invited to enter their works and talents in the San Mateo County Fair. Contests are open to anyone, regardless of residence, but the deadline to enter online is May 8 before midnight. Exhibit divisions are: Agriculture, creative home arts, fine arts galleria, floral arts, garden landscape, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maker).
In addition to the adult divisions, there is a Creative Kids division especially for those from pre-school through high school. Some of the all-new 2018 kids' contests include cake decorating, art, photography, sewing, science, hobby collections, quilting, needlework, woodworking, drafting, and creative writing. The best part of all—every youth exhibitor receives two free tickets to the fair.
The exhibit program is the heart of the San Mateo County Fair and one of the highlights that sets the fair apart from a traditional amusement park. Among the thousands of entries in 2017 were over 300 intricate quilts, 500 fantastically focused black and white images and 200 colorful and aromatic floral entries.
