Crowdfunding Campaign for Protagonists of a History

GENEVA - April 19, 2018 - PRLog -- Protagonists of a History is an independent short film budgeted at approximately $114'000 for its pre-production, production, post-production, distribution and promotion.

The film is intended to be exhibited in theaters and television, primarily in Brazil and Latin America, but also abroad.

It is a documentary-fiction film genre, which a focus on some pressing social issues as its topic, namely those of racism and sexism.

The Project Director desires to hire an experienced and talented cast and crew in the picture and use a high-quality equipment for filming, thereby adding to the film's emotional value, professionalism and audience appeal.

Protagonists of a History tells why racism and sexism are wrong and how they can be removed from the collective cultural consciousness, through a touching and impactful storytelling, involving two key characters, who illustrate the path of the enslaved African people and their descendants, celebrating remarkable women, who have been struggling for freedom, recognition, better life conditions and more importantly, the right to life, because of the roles they have inherited by a biased and patriarchal system.

An example to improve human lives, communities and nations such as Brazil but being also an inspiration to places where these social issues still prevail.

Originally from Angola, the director grew up in Brazil until the age of 21 years, where she was witness and even confronted with prejudice sometimes.

As a grown woman in Switzerland, she has temporarily worked at a Non-Governmental Organisation on human rights' protection as a Communication Officer, which reinforced her sense of justice and concern for social issues. Those were the triggering elements that made her write Protagonists of a History, which she is willing to produce and direct.

Through these facts, she has learned to be a director and have the expertise in the use of editing tools, while building a network related to audiovisual productions as well.

Hence, she is committed to making the best use of her strengths, experiences, professionalism, network and creativity, to assemble an experienced crew for this project. For her own part, after having written Protagonists of a History, she will also work as a producer, director and in the post-production phase.
