In an exclusive interview with Practicomm, the founder of Premier Equity Advisors  talks about how his company developed a new standard to assure that purity will soon be available in plastic products.

Question # 1:  Several years ago, I understand that you came across a fatwa or a mandate issued by The Al-Azhar University in Egypt stating, in essence, that people of the Islam faith should not eat food stored or wrapped in plastic. The reason was that It can contain animal byproducts or fats which leach into the food.  Is this when you decided to develop a way for certain plastics to be rid of those fats and become 100% pure?

MV: The Fatwa as written presented a mandate of the Islamic faith that also carried over to Vegan, Hindu, Hebrew, as well as other ethically concerned groups and the fact was that up until this point this concern had been ignored within the plastic industry. Once the importance of this became known, Premier was formed to take on this challenge.

Question #2: Where do currently stand in you quest to not only certify that plastics are 100% pure as well as producing pure polymers and "safe" plastic food containers?

MV: I immediately realized it was necessary to provide a protocol and formulation to detect the animal by-products in plastic, as well as provide an approved alternative. I am proud to report that after four years of research and development, we have succeeded. It was at that point that we developed, the "PurOlyn®" a 100% totally ERC©, Ethic and Religiously Compliant, line of products. Now, manufacturers and product consumers can be certain their plastics are PURE.

Question #3: How many people do you think will benefit by your certification and products?

MV: Just think for a minute about the Islamic and Hindu faiths and beliefs (and the vast amount of the people within those groups alone) that will directly benefit from this knowledge and assurance that they can use plastic products that are certified free of the forbidden animal by-products and only manufactured with approved vegetable additives.  How many people?  The answer is "billions".
