ATLANTA - April 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Poet, Steaven Misher, kicks off April, National Poetry Month, with a series of showcases that celebrate the power, promise and influence of poetry in the United States. The events will culminate in the show-stopping celebration, Up Close and Personal with Steaven Misher, April 28th, 5-8p.m. at Kat's Café, 970 Piedmont Ave in the heart of Mid-town Atlanta. Misher will also sign copies of his book, Heaven Has Windows. The book contains pages of inspiration, intense reflection, artistry and pure brilliance. This powerful collection of poetry is Misher's third. He previously published two anthologies, Eagles Fly Alone, 2010 and Healing in His Wings, 2013.

Throughout the month of April, fans of Misher's satisfying brand of poetry will enjoy live performances at the following events across metro-Atlanta:

·         Book discussion, Heaven Has Windows, Henry County Library Systems, McDonough Location, April 13th 5-6:30p.m.

·         Book signing, Heaven Has Windows, Friday, April 20th at the Nubian Bookstore in Morrow from 6-8p.m.

·         Featured poet, Tabernacle of Praise Church International, April 22nd 11:00a.m.

·         Up Close and Personal with Steaven Misher, April 28th, Kat's Café 5-8p.m.

Misher has written and recited poetry for more than 20 years, but is now gaining notoriety for his talent, passion and drive. In 2017, he was named Inspirational Poet of the Year (GANSPA). He was also commissioned to write and recite a poem in honor of Atlanta civil rights icon, Congressman John Lewis. Misher personally presented the legendary congressman with a special copy of the poem. He also wrote and presented poetry to TV One News Personality, Roland Martin. He has been featured on CBS46, SCBTV, Atlanta Live and Trendsetter Magazine.

Misher is known for his effortless display of words. His warm eloquent usage of language and performance captures the hearts of his listeners. He is one of the most sought-after poets in metro-Atlanta and his dream is to bring the beauty of poetry to anyone who will listen.

Misher has more than 5,000 fans on Facebook and his following continues to grow. His poetry can be found on Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Misher is committed to community causes. He is a proud veteran, educator and member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Gate City Lodge#42 F&A Masons, the Henry County Branch of the NAACP, and the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County.
