By: Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Brass City Comic Con family fun event will include vendors, creator tables, food trucks, cosplay boutique, and a gaming tournament. Admission is $5 and children under 12 are free, there will also be cosplayers and children dressing up as their favorite super heroes. All funds raised will be given to Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. in Waterbury. The following organizations are assisting the students of Naugatuck Valley Community College in promoting and sponsoring this event. Brass City Comic Con, http://www.brasscitycomiccon.nation2.com, is a 9-year-old comic book convention located at the Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury, CT. Created by Professor William H. Foster III, its objective was to celebrate and recognize the creative efforts found in the American Comic Book, and their creators. "Waterbury is a perfect location for the show, as it is the birthplace of the American Comic Book," stated Foster. Past attendees have included Trevor Von Eeden (co-designer of DC Comics' popular Black Lightning character), Paris Cullins, Frank McLaughlin, Joe Staton and many others comprising talent from Marvel, DC, Archie, Charlton, Image as well as numerous small press publishers such as local companies like United Comics and Free Lunch Studios.
