VALLEJO, Calif. - April 3, 2018 - PRLog -- A local, family-owned business turns 85 years old this year. Pierce Inc, an electric, telecom and construction company opened for business in 1933 in Vallejo and is now operated by a 4th generation of Pierces.

Ed and Leone Pierce founded then Ed Pierce Electric Company Inc. on April, 18, 1933.  For a time, the company evolved into a full service electrical contracting and appliance dealer. In 1957 the business became Hal Pierce Electric Co. Inc., with Ed's son Harold O. Pierce, (Hal), as its Owner and President from 1957-1986. His son, Harold G. Pierce, (Hal) became President of the company in 1986, and in 2007 he passed the reins on to his son and daughter, Matt and Laura.

Today, four generations later, siblings Matt & Laura Pierce operate Pierce Inc. They are celebrating the occasion by hosting a special event for employees, creating a special 85th anniversary logo, launching a new and improved website honoring the significant history of their great grandparents and focusing on Vallejo's history on the Pierce Inc. Facebook page.

"I'm so proud to be a part of such a trusted business in my hometown," said Hal Pierce, owner of Pierce Inc from 1986-2007. "It has been an honor to serve the businesses and people of Vallejo for so many years". In addition to running Pierce Inc for so many years, Hal Pierce also served as Vallejo's Vice Mayor in 1987 and on the City Council from 1983-1987. He has fond memories of helping his father by cleaning the shop, gassing the trucks and, when he was old enough to drive, delivering materials and doing site cleanup.

Over its 85 years, Pierce Inc has been involved in so much of Vallejo's history - from modernizing Hogan and Widenmann schools to design-build work at Touro, Mare Island and several local car dealerships. Decades ago, Pierce Inc donated ten thousand dollars in work to help provide Vallejo a helipad at Sutter Solano Hospital. Pierce has also begun building radio station towers and cell towers in the area. Their next big project is to upgrade the audio & visual in Vallejo's City Council Chambers this year.
