Follow on Google News | Central Indiana NICA Member Participates in National Home Inventory MonthIndiana-based Hartman Inventory shares knowledge of the needs for a home inventory through this industry awareness campaign.
A concerted effort by the association and all inventory professionals will raise awareness of the many life events that require or benefit from having this information prepared. Recurring disasters, increased thefts, and a growing desire to protect one's assets have encouraged the growth of this service industry. In addition to assisting with information when filing an insurance claim, home inventories also are required or preferred for estate settlement, financial and estate planning, separation of assets, pre-nuptials, and documenting collectibles. Busy lifestyles have encouraged many to hire an inventory professional to create this documentation for their permanent residence, vacation homes, apartments, and/or off-site storage units. With 2018 being the first year to create an organized campaign for the home inventory industry, NICA is committed to supporting each home inventory professional to experience positive results this year and in the years to come. Hartman Inventory, located in Avon and serving central Indiana, has chosen to participate in this month-long educational initiative. Owner and home inventory professional Cindy Hartman said, "My participation in this awareness campaign includes educational social media posts, speaking opportunities, and meeting insurance agents who want to learn more about this initiative. Hartman Inventory is a nationally certified personal property inventory service for homeowners, renters, and small-to-medium businesses. Owners Mike and Cindy Hartman created their business in 2004; their passion for this industry was fueled by first-hand experience of two burglaries. They realized the value of knowing what you own prior to a loss.
