United Premier Soccer League Announces Inter USA as New Florida Conference Expansion Team
Orlando (Fla.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL for the 2018 Spring Season

Based in Orlando (Fla.), Inter USA begins UPSL play in the Florida Conference Central Division, and will host its home games at Four Corners Charter High School (9160 Bella Citta Blvd, Davenport, FL 33896) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "Florida has been good for the United Premier Soccer League, and we're pleased to welcome Inter USA to the Florida Conference Central Division. Owner Carlos Santos has a deep history in the professional game in Brazil and will bring those connections to the UPSL as more and more soccer people worldwide recognize the potential of the UPSL's Pro/Rel Model. We wish Mr. Santos and Inter USA every success as they prepare to kick off the UPSL's Spring 2018 Season."
Carlos Santos is Owner of International USA. A native of Brazil, Santos is a former member of Brazil Men's Under-20 National Team and spent 15 years as a professional player in his home country before immigrating to Florida.
International USA Owner Carlos Santos said, "Our team's mentality is professional. The UPSL is looking more like a professional league, and I think that will help us mature with the promotion."
Santos, 50, previously owned Pensacola (Fla.)-based Barracudas FC (PDL) before moves to Boca Raton (Fla.) and now Orlando. On Dec. 20, 2017, he affiliated with Porto Alegre, Brazil-based Sport Club Internacional, for which he played for five years as a pro in Brazil's 1st division during the late 1980s and early '90s.
"The UPSL has been looking better and better, and I think it's a good league for growing a project," Santos said. "The affiliation with Internacional Porte Alegre is going to help grow the game here. To send players there and to bring players here is the project that we have started."
Alex Reyes, 41, is the club's General Manager. A native of Honduras, Reyes has spent adult more than 20 years in Pro Development soccer.
The club soon will announce its game schedule.

Internacional USA is an American Soccer club currently based in Orlando, Fla., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Inter USA plays in the UPSL Pro Premier.
Founded in 2018, Inter USA can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 140-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
