Follow on Google News | Do you know the 4 most commonly used types of Forklifts?By: Mtech Engineering Counterbalance These are the most common trucks that serve literally all material handling capacities. It is a straightforward appliance that incorporates dual forks to deal with heavy loads and bulky items. With the counterbalance trucks, the forks come at the front of the machine having no projecting arms or legs. Owing to its structure, the truck can be moved to exact location of the racking or load. There is no reach facility needed here which it contributes to its ability to perform straightforward operations. Three-Wheel Counterbalance Their uniqueness comes out of their three wheels as other counterbalance trucks have four wheels. These are best for narrow aisles because of having tight turning circles and maneuverability with tight spaces. They have single wheel in the rear center of the machine that guarantees maximum maneuverability. They are perfect for applications requiring outside and inside use. They are ideally suited for racking loading. These trucks have optimum productivity due to the combination of tight maneuverability and counterbalance under-clearance. Reach Trucks Reach trucks are called so because of their extended lift height. They have the fork carriage to extend beyond the stabilizing legs and therefore they can 'reach' the racking. Reach trucks can lift to more than 10 meters' height even in tight working environments. They are ideally suited for almost every warehousing situation due to their high-rise storage pallet racking. Reach trucks are available in many forms like Stand-Up truck and Double Deep truck. The former is the most frequently used and they are suitable when there is only one load each bay. Double-Deep trucks are the same but have larger forks. Those are best suited for areas where there are different pallet loads to be stored per bay because they can reach right to the bay's back. Pump Trucks They are the simplest in operation. Pump trucks are essentially employed as pellet jack but no electric power is incorporated to lift any materials. They are old-fashioned trucks which require manual labor as one has to 'pump' the jack for lifting the skids using one's own force. These trucks can lift the weight up to 3,500kg. There are many varieties of these trucks available. A few are standard pallet compliant, low profile, euro pallet compliant, all terrain, foldable, narrow fork spread, wide forkspread, and long and short forked. End
