International students are 5.3% of the total student population on U.S. campuses, with China and India being the two largest sources of students.  For the first time, 2017 saw the number of international students decline, with the top reasons being:

·      Costs of U.S. higher education

·      U.S. social and political environment

·      Increasingly competitive market of higher education options.
