KINGSTON, Mass. - March 28, 2018 - PRLog -- Sacred Heart School (www.sacredheartkingston.com), a private, Catholic, co-educational school in Kingston for students in preschool through grade 12, is proud to announce that the art and literary work of four elementary school students are featured in the 19th edition of HUTCH.  The kids' literary and creativity magazine is published semi-annually under the direction of Peter H. Reynolds, a well-known author and illustrator of children's books, with the assistance of The Blue Bunny Bookstore and The Reynolds Center, a non-profit foundation.

The poem "Moods" authored by fifth grade student Kelly Wallace, a story written by fourth grader Diego Nader, and drawings by fourth grade students Kaya O'Brien and Christian Murphy were selected for publication in the March issue of the popular magazine, with Christian Murphy's art work featured on the magazine's cover.

Each spring and fall children ages 5-12 are invited to submit art, poetry, stories, book reviews, photos and other journalistic pieces for consideration. Each issue of HUTCH is based on a central theme; the theme for the March issue was "bravery."  Each new issue is welcomed with a publication party at The Blue Bunny Bookstore in Dedham where all children who have contributed can celebrate with their families.

"As a teacher I encourage my students to submit their work for many reasons," said Sacred Heart Elementary Instructor Tiffany Persechini.  "I believe in the value of children writing and creating for authentic reasons; I want them to know their talents and ideas are worth celebrating; and I like them to learn about the process of creating for a larger audience."

Said Sister Myra Rodgers, CDP, President of Sacred Heart School, "The entire Sacred Heart community is proud of these fine young artists and authors.  HUTCH magazine is highly recognized for encouraging and celebrating children with a desire to share their creative talents – bravo to Kelly, Diego, Kaya and Christian!"
