Preventing Bridge Failure with Remote Analog I/O Module

LOS ANGELES - March 26, 2018 - PRLog -- With tens of thousands of vehicles driving through roadway bridges of the interstate and state highway systems every day, public safety is at an all-time high. Even with the help of State and Federal Departments of Transportation regulations requiring bridge safety inspections, bridge deterioration, such as: corrosion, erosion, and signs of stress fatigue are inevitable to the bridge's structure, increasing the chance of collapse and disasters. However, even with all the factors, there are ways to keep drivers safe.

Bridge monitoring is extremely helpful in preventing the chance of bridge failure. In order to prevent collapse, vibrating wire (VW) strain sensors and ICP DAS USA's ET-7000 remote analog input modules are installed on each pier of the bridge. The data from the sensors sends a message to ICP DAS USA's G-4500-2G. When the G-4500-2G detects the danger, it will display the warning on the LED display, or send text messages to the related officials, such as police, mayor or ministry of communications, in reducing the damage to the lowest level. ICP DAS USA's G-4500-2G programmable automation controller is the perfect choice for your bridge monitoring systems.
