The future of international exchange has a new home in New York City
By: Cultural Vistas
After spending more than four decades in midtown, Cultural Vistas will usher in a new era in its work to advance global skills when it opens a new New York City headquarters in the historic Woolworth Building in downtown Manhattan.
The new office spans 11,355 square feet on the 21st floor at 233 Broadway and is surrounded by windows and several unobstructed views of lower Manhattan.
The office is expected to open Wednesday, May 9.
"We are very excited to expand our presence and move into one of New York's most iconic buildings," said Jennifer Clinton, Ph.D., Cultural Vistas President and CEO. "Our new home at 233 Broadway will provide us with more space and fresh opportunities to engage our New York City alumni, partners, and supporters in new and exciting ways.
"In a year of many milestones as we celebrate our 55th anniversary, the establishment of our new office signifies a new era in our work to build understanding across cultures and advance global skills."
Standing at 792 feet (241 meters), the Woolworth Building was the tallest building in the world at the time of its construction in 1912. The Cass Gilbert-designed "Cathedral of Commerce" became a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and was designated as a New York City landmark in 1983.
The office space was designed by OTJ Architects, the same firm that designed the organization's Washington, D.C. office in 2015.
Cultural Vistas will host a special open house event to showcase and celebrate its nonprofit's new headquarters on Thursday evening, May 17.
Effective May 9, 2018, Cultural Vistas' operations will span three locations:

233 Broadway, Suite 2120
New York, N.Y. 10279
1250 H Street NW, Suite 300
