"Our state's and region's natural resources play a vital role in every field, and understanding the ins and outs of those resources will help participants make better overall decisions." On the first day of the session, the class traveled by boat to Ossabaw Island where they were given a tour of the island and the Eleanor Torrey West House. After departing from Ossabaw, the group traveled by bus to the Ford Plantation for a tour of the site, dinner and a presentation made by Trip Tollison, President and CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) on regional economic development. The class enjoyed a low country dinner and a social gathering while there. On the second day of the session, the class traveled to Fort Stewart where they listened to speakers, Tim Beaty, Chief of Fish and Wildlife Branch for the U.S. Army at Ft. Stewart, and Doug Haymans, Director of the Coastal Resources Division (CRD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The class then shifted focus to leadership with a review of the CPI 260 assessment and explored personal leadership styles for professional development. The CPI 260 (California Psychological Inventory) is a personality assessment designed to provide complex insights for use in executive recruitment and leadership development.
