In 1999, the Bavarian State Mint, known locally as Das Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt, first manufactured Gold and Silver Elephant coins in the African Wildlife series under the legend of Zambia. In 2004, the country of issue changed to the Somali Republic, a coastal nation on the Horn of Africa. Despite this slight change, the popularity of the series never diminished.

These special issues, available in 1 oz Gold, 1 oz Silver and 1 oz Platinum versions, feature both the 2004 and 2018 Somalian Elephant coin designs. Additionally, both dates are shown, along with a special "15" mark. The obverse of each coin displays the Somali Coat of Arms surrounded by the face value and 2018 date.

All three Anniversary Jubilee coins are produced with limited mintages, making these even more highly collectible than just their unique design demands.
