Former Kindergarten Student Tells Voters in Illinois' 6th CD: "Ms. Howland Stood Up for Me"
By: Howland for Congress 2018
I am a practicing Sikh, and when I was in kindergarten, a sixth grader knocked my turban off my head and made fun of me. Ms. Howland stood up for me. She suspended the boy who bullied me and showed other students that bullying is unacceptable.
That was 28 years ago, but the lesson stayed with me. Ms. Howland probably didn't realize the impact she'd have on me. She showed me that I can make my voice heard if I have the resolve. As an activist, I look back on that day as one of my most formative.
I'll proudly cast my ballot for Ms. Howland for Congress in Illinois' 6th District on Tuesday. She's touched my life and those of countless other students. She's exactly the person our district needs to represent us in Congress."
