Follow on Google News | Dungeons & Dragons & Drag Queens come together at last! The next big innovation in drag: a comedy adventure show that's taken Kickstarter by storm
By: Queens of Adventure The Queens of Adventure podcast brings together everything people love about larger-than- Set in an inclusive fantasy world where queer heroes face down fears, triumph over adversity, and spread their sickening radiance wherever they go, Queens of Adventure welcomes listeners who may have felt excluded or overlooked in other fantasy worlds. In a world where the power of drag is available to anyone who unleashes the hero within, Queens of Adventure celebrates all genders and orientations. Queens of Adventure's first season was fully funded by fans on Kickstarter in just five days. With crowdfunding continuing through the end of March, Queens of Adventure is now blowing past stretch goals that include livestreamed interactive D&D games with drag queens. The show is produced by LGBT writer/podcaster Matt Baume and his partner, game designer James Morris. For the last six months, they've been hosting live Dungeons & Drag Queens shows that play to sold-out audiences in their hometown of Seattle. "From our sold-out live shows, we could see that there's a powerful craving for queer D&D," said Baume. "There just aren't enough LGBTQ heroes to satisfy the need. We created Queens of Adventure to connect people all over the world who didn't feel like there was a place for them in fantasy games."
