PHILADELPHIA - March 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Wine Women & Shoes® is back for its fifth consecutive year. The event will take place on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Merion Cricket Club, 325 Montgomery Avenue in Haverford, PA from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Returning to the annual fundraiser as emcee for the fourth year in a row is FOX 29 "Good Day Philadelphia" co-host, Alex Holley.

"We are so glad to have Alex back as our emcee," said Rachel Black, entrepreneur and co-chair of the Wine Women & Shoes volunteer planning committee. "She has a warm, yet vivacious personality and that intangible 'something special' that brings the entire event alive every year."

Wine Women & Shoes benefits the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter and will include a variety of activities, featuring a Strolling Marketplace filled with boutique vendors displaying a plethora of fashions and accessories; wine tasting stations; both live and silent auctions, as well as contests, like "Best in Shoe," sponsored by West Laurel Hill. An elegant and exciting fashion show presented by the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator will conclude the afternoon.

This year, Philadelphia Fashion Incubator executive director, Elissa Bloom will be honored during a special presentation.

"Elissa brings a unique perspective and comprehension to the world of fashion as a result of her more than 20 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience," said real estate executive and co-chair of the Wine Women & Shoes volunteer planning committee, Jennifer Unterberger. "We are excited to also honor her in recognition of her unparalleled past and continued support of the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter and its yearly 'Wine Women and Shoes' event."

During Wine Women & Shoes, charming "Shoe Guys" will serve as event hosts — assisting guests during their shopping and wine tasting experience.  One lucky gentleman will also be crowned "King of Sole," while one of several "Sole Sisters" will receive her "Queen of Sole" crown. The King and Queen will be chosen in advance by anyone who'd like to vote with their donation to the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter.

Slots for the Sole Sister and Shoe Guy contests are still available for anyone who loves a challenge and would like to support Wine Women & Shoes even further by raising additional funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support. About Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's is a degenerative brain disease that affects memory, thinking ability, perception, and sometimes behavior. It is the nation's sixth-leading cause of death and the only one of the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured, or even slowed. Women are most affected by Alzheimer's: not only are nearly two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer's women, they comprise more than 60 percent of all unpaid dementia caregivers. Across the United States, Alzheimer's affects 5.5 million people, including approximately 200,000 younger than 65—some as young as 30 who are living with younger-onset Alzheimer's.
