Chevron Alaska Launches Give Your Teacher a Spring Break Campaign
By: Denali Express Stations
"Teachers impact more than just the classroom," the campaign reads, "The lessons we learn in school become guiding principals for our lives. Many of our teachers become our mentors, and some our life-long friends. Let's give back to the ones who make us who we are today!" Give Your Teacher a Spring Break is open to currently employed educators, and anyone can submit a nomination. Simply enter your favorite teacher (or professor) online!
Winning teachers get to choose their Spring Break adventure from among three options for each prize category. Prizes include options like a Denali Flightseeing Tour with K2 Aviation, annual memberships with the Alaska Sealife Center, dinner and a movie at Bear Tooth, and more. In addition, 50 winners will receive $25 fuel cards for Chevron and one-week all-access passes to Anytime Fitness.
Chevron is encouraging participants to share stories about their favorite teachers on social media with the hashtag, #LoveMyAKTeacher. Stay up-to-date with the campaign on the Chevron Denali Express Facebook page!
Owner, Rocky Brew has a big heart for education and charity. When discussing who should be eligible to win, he says, "I don't want it to be just teachers. I'm not saying that they aren't important, they are, but I want to include everybody--college professors, teachers from technical schools--no one should be left out." Rocky has led Chevron Alaska to support numerous causes in Anchorage over the years and he is never short on ideas for how to give back.
