Reaching The Finish Line Resumes Radio Show After Long Hiatus

CARBONDALE, Colo. - March 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Show host, Kallen Diggs, revives the Reaching The Finish Line radio show.

From the continent of Africa to the Americas, the show has inspired almost a million people to start reaching the finish line. Kallen has interviewed prolific people, including Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad, Poor Dad), JJ Ramberg (MSNBC Host), and Fran Maier (Co-Founder of Match.com).

Since the show's birth, Kallen wanted to focus on giving his listeners an incredible listening experience. However, after some time, he realized that the show started to take up more of his time, which prevented him from writing his next book, speaking, and working on other projects.

With the large audience, he assumed that placing ads between the show segments would quickly start generating some revenue. So, he started doing that for several months, but was disappointed with the results. He also started to face a troubling health problem.

"This was my first venture into terrestrial radio and podcasting. I overestimated the success that I would have from the show. I noticed the large audience and thought that I could quickly monetize it. The listeners did not appear bothered by the show ads because my audience kept growing. Although, after tracking monthly revenue for 18 months, it became clear that they were not interested in the relevant ads," said Kallen Diggs.

Monetizing a radio show was not Kallen's biggest problem though. It was his health. He was suffering from severe hypothyroidism and gradually started to struggle with his creative abilities. After recording his 114th episode with Chris Gronkowski (former NFL fullback), he decided to take a hiatus from the show.

"My health was declining. My stomach cramps were overwhelming. It affected my ability to talk for long durations, which prevented me from recording. The show's lack of monetization discouraged me even more. I did not have the strength to write or do anything productive."

Interestingly, the show's audience continued to grow significantly despite his 6 month absence. After some deep thought, Kallen decided to resume the show on a seasonal format.

"The show has been growing even during my absence. I cannot ignore that growth. Until I can find the best way to monetize it, I will reduce the episode frequency to enable myself to write my next book and work on other projects."

For 2018, Kallen intends to produce 32 episodes. You can go to his website to access all of the episodes at http://www.reachingthefinishline.com/podcast
