By: Home Builders Assoc of St. Louis and Eastern MO The St. Charles Convention Center is conveniently located just off Interstate 70 at Convention Center Blvd. in St. Charles and has 70,000 square feet of exhibit space and 1,100 free parking spaces. Area consumers can find windows, doors, fencing, decks, kitchen and bath products, pools, spas, home accessories and much more – plus experts who can answer all of their home improvement questions. Show visitors can attend a seminar by HGTV alumni, David Sheinkopf, for affordable insider design tips to beautify their homes. David, interior designer, carpenter and general contractor, starred in more than 100 episodes of HGTV's Design on a Dime, where he helped everyday people on a budget find designs that they loved. He will appear on Friday and Saturday, sharing design ideas in his seminar Reserve the Right to Beautify your Home. David says, "We all want change, and in some instances it's as easy as allowing yourself the chance to make a choice." Show visitors will learn how to choose the perfect paint colors, create focal points and much more. With a few of David's design tips, homeowners can start down the path to creating something beautiful. David has been a master craftsman for more than 20 years, beginning with building sets for commercials and music videos, which soon led to art direction and set design. In 2004, David opened the doors to Shein Design Inc, a full-service design/build firm and discovered a niche market for designing and building high-end custom pieces for celebrity clientele. Blending his passion for furniture-making with a desire to be in front of the camera led to HGTV's Design on a Dime. After four and a half years and more than 100 shows, he realized that helping people with the design dilemmas of their lives felt good. He continued on that road, working on The Greg Berendt Show and Lowe's Creative Ideas Magazine. His most recent stint was as a master builder on Ellen's Design Challenge for the HGTV network. He will present his seminar Reserve the Right to Beautify your Home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Show visitors won't want to miss the 12th Annual St. Charles Sausage Festival & Wine Tasting. This popular area will have free tastings from sausage producers and wineries, many of them from Missouri. Show visitors can also purchase items to take home. Davis Meat Processing, Hermann Wurst Haus and Ohlemacher's Wisconsin Meat and Cheese Products will offer samples of tasty summer sausages and bratwursts, plus various smoked and cured products. Attendees can also taste a variety of wines from Arcadian Moon, Small Batch Winery, Stone Hill Winery and TerraVox Wines.
