More than 290 negotiations were conducted by Russian companies at the Gulfood 2018
In Dubai, the 23rd international exhibition of products, beverages, equipment for hotel and restaurant business and gastronomy of the Persian Gulf countries Gulfood 2018 completed its work.
Totally, more than 200 products from Russia were represented at the Gulfood 2018: meatandchilledmeatproducts;
The united Russian stand included collective expositions of the Republic of Karelia, the Stavropol Territory and the Rostov Region. There were also represented both very small domestic enterprises and large Russian companies: Ecole (manufacturer of halal products), Yarmarka Trading House (manufacturer of natural mixtures for the preparation of first and second dishes under the Yelli trademark), and many others. Well-known not only in Russia but also abroad, Miratorg, Cherkizovo and Resource agricultural holdings demonstrated their products at the individual stands in the meat pavilion; the Makfa and Ufenal companies – in the Cereals and Grain Legumes section; and the Nalchik Dairy Plant and Sinyavinskaya Poultry Plant – in the World Food pavilion.
The Russian Export Center helped Russian participants in preparing and conducting business meetings with potential partners from the Persian Gulf countries and the Middle East. During the exhibition, representatives of domestic companies conducted over 290 productive negotiations with the owners and top-managers of distributor networks and manufacturing companies, importers and distributors of food products, hoteliers and restaurateurs, and government agencies suppliers.
Being one of the largest and most authoritative food industry exhibitions in the world, Gulfood is essential to business representatives from the countries of the Persian Gulf region and the Middle East. In other turn, for Russia this region is one of the priority directions of agrarian and food export. So, according to data of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the volume of export supplies of Russian food products to the United Arab Emirates in 2017 increased 2,5 times and reached 250 million dollars expressed in terms of money.
Further to this positive trend, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev, conducted within the framework of the exhibition a business meeting with the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment of the UAE, Tani bin Ahmad al-zeiaudi. An interdepartmental Memorandum on cooperation in the field of agriculture was signed there. Prospects for the development of export-import relations between the two states were also discussed at the meeting with the Minister for Food Security of the UAE, Maryam Al Muhairi.
In addition, Alexander Tkachev discoursed at a panel discussion over "Russia, Africa and the Persian Gulf: Prospects for Cooperation"
